Jean-Marie Martin-Amouroux, Economist, former Research Director of CNRS and former Director of IEPE (1969-1982) is a partner researcher with IEPE and the President of Hydro 21. His current research relates to the growth in world energy consumption over a very long period of time (1800 - 2000). After putting together a series of statistics describing this growth in the world's major regions, he draws up a number of development paths (especially in relation to energy-based intensity of economic activity) through which he looks to explain the differences in terms of the history of the technical systems that supported those paths. He has fulfilled a number of local duties (Research Vice-President at Université Pierre Mendès France, President of the European University and Scientific Centre at Grenoble) and national duties (Reporter-General for the Long-Term Energy Group of the Planning Board and Technical Adviser to the Minister for Research and Technology). He holds the
degree of Docteur Es-Sciences Économiques (Grenoble, 1960). |
