Odile BLANCHARD

Odile Blanchard is an Associate Professor of Economics at Grenoble University (France) and a research fellow at LEPII (Laboratoire d’Economie de la Production et de l’Intégration Internationale), within the EREN team (Energy, Resources, Environment and Negociations). She was a visiting fellow at the World Resources Institute (WRI), Washington DC, USA, in 2001-2002 and a visiting professor at Lewis and Clark College, Portland, Oregon, USA in 2006-2007. Till the mid 1990s, she carried out research on energy demand and modelling in developing countries. Her current research focuses on economic issues relating to climate change, namely: - the economic analysis of climate change mitigation policies, including the on-going international climate negotiations and their future prospects ; - the potential paths towards increased participation of industrialized and developing countries to considerably reduce the anthropogenic greenhouse effect ; - the development of an analytical tool to help support future decisions under the Climate Convention and other climate-related fora; - the United States' climate policy. Odile Blanchard also manages out a climate-friendly university project at Grenoble University. The goal of the project is to identify and implement various actions to reduce the greenhouse gases emitted by the university. more...
